Weekend Nothings

Me and the girl. At home on a very snowy Monday. There are advantages to working at home. One is not getting dressed. The second is having a puppy to look over your shoulder to make sure you're getting all your work done.

So. My weekend was good. Relaxing. Enjoyable. On Friday night we went ice skating. Which was incredibly hard. At least for me. I can't believe I actually own a pair of Figure Skates because I couldn't have been more awkward on them. That damn toe pick kept tripping me up. But I didn't go down, not once. Although, my first attempts around the rink were pretty awful until I got off and realized I didn't have my skates tightened around my feet nearly enough. Balancing on that thin blade when your foot has the Grand Canyon from side to side is pretty impossible. Even if you do yoga.
But I tightened up my skates and did much better. And, James. He was a big showoff all skating backwards and stuff. I secretly hoped one of the little shits (translation: kids) would knock him down. Not hard. Just enough to shake his confidence a little. Evil, I know. But, truly, he was a showoff.
The skating thing was funny, though. The rink was full of teenagers. Packed. And I remember the Friday nights I spent at the roller-skate rink. We were too young to drink. Too young to hang out at bars or restaurants. So, it was skating or the movies. And we were annoying and flirty and couldn't understand why so many adults were around and giving us dirty looks.
Now, I'm the adult giving the dirty look. How sad.
But at least I can drink.
So, we skated and then went out to Cafe Latte for some dessert.
Good times.
On Saturday, Yoga kicked my ass. I don't know if I was dehydrated, over-tired or what, but my arms were wasted. Even downward dog was a struggle. Probably one of my worst workouts ever. I was happy to get home, drink water and eat.
We did our grocery shopping. Cooked a grand Cooking Light dinner. Watched our taped copy of Friends and I dozed off during Saturday Night Live.
On Sunday, we didn't do much either. Laid around and read. Fixed pancakes. I did manage to clean the bathroom. Some anal chick sprung from my ass and actually took the shower curtain down to press it. Don't know where THAT came from but it looks great now.
We went to a late matinee with a friend to see Amelie. Very cute. And then we cooked dinner, didn't eat until 9pm and promptly fell asleep.
Not exactly backbreaking work. But exactly what I needed.

I bought some tulips on Saturday. They always make me happy.
