Fat Tuesday

First of all -- all I'm going to say about the matter is 160 AGAIN. I weighed in at 160 today. *sigh*

Well, I think I'm going to be a rebel tonight. It's Fat Tuesday and they've been advertising this Mardi Gras party for weeks now at a tavern that I love to go to. I NEVER go out on weeknights. Geez, it's enough to get me to go out on the weekend. But I figured, what the hell... This plan ain't so grand for my health & fitness efforts. Because of this, I'll probably miss my 6am Spinning class tomorrow (sleep) and my "no alcohol on weekends" ---> out the window. I'm sorry. I know I could obstain. But -- I'm weak. I think I need beer with my Mardi Gras Beads.

But I was thinking. Most people my age are still out there partying. James and I are so quiet and content to sit at home, cook dinner when my friends are out raising havoc. And it's not that I want to change our lifestyle. I like the way we are. But I miss too many of these gigs because I'm too worried about how tired I'll be the next morning or will I fit my workout in. I doubt if I miss a Wednesday workout I'll gain all my weight back. Now if I made a habit of this and drank and partied EVERY Tuesday and NEVER worked out on Wednesday -- then I'd have a problem. But this is fun. And I need to have some fun, get down, party. After all you can't very well have a FAT TUESDAY party on a Saturday, can you?

Last night I had some Valentine's leftover. That's probably why the scale hasn't changed. We had practically a full bottle of Champaigne left and I just couldn't see pouring it down the drain. So two glasses and a piece of leftover Chocolate Cake were my splurges last night. Sometimes I wonder if I could go a day without splurging on SOMETHING. Everyday I try -- hopefully I'll get there. Today's started out well. 6 am workout, healthy lunch. Of course my little party tonight will probably entail a couple beers. But I'm planning on grabbing a Boca Burger and quick salad at home before we go. That way I won't be tempted by all the Cajun fixin's they're having.
