Valentine Plans
Okay. I took a few days off from journaling. You're probably better off anyhow because I would have just bitched about my crappy assignment from my boss that I moaned about last week. I AM still annoyed. But I'm pretty much already done with the project -- record time if I must say so myself (I know no one else will!). But I digress...
So, I had my weigh-in yesterday -- 160. Rats! I really am stuck here. I'm pretty sure that my 5 lb. loss by the 27th is shot. But now I'm just praying this 160 goes away! I think I've been here for a month now. I did start my "jumpstart" initiatives to my diet & fitness plan last week. Maybe it will take a little longer to show some effects (at least on the scale). What have I done? Well, for starters, I took my weight training from 2 sets of 8-12 to 3 sets of 8-12. I will say right off that I think it's already given my body a double take. I've been a little sore -- something I haven't felt for a while. But it is a little trickier to fit everything in! My weights workout used to last between 45 min to an hour. Now, I have to really push it to try and hit all the machines in 60 minutes. Last week I even did 3 weight workouts (normally I only do 2 a week).
Actually, I got much more exercise than normal last week all around. On Friday I got up and did a 6 am Spinning class and then attended the 5:15 pm Step Aerobics class. Then on Sat., I hit the gym before work for weights. And on Sunday I took my doggie for a walk. It felt good to get in over 420 minutes of exercise last week.
I don't know if I'll be able to match so much exercise time this week. But I'm determined to lose AT LEAST one pound. I didn't have an excellent eating day on Monday, but I did really well yesterday and I know I won't cheat too much today because I have to work tonight.
At lunch today I went to the Factory Card Outlet store for some Valentine's supplies. Usually my hubby and I don't celebrate Valentines. But this year, I don't know, I feel "stirred". It all started when we were buying arts & crafts supplies for my little sister. I saw all these red doilies and glitter. It reminded me of when I was a little girl and my parents made me make all my Valentines for my classmates by hand. No Looney Tunes for me. I hated it as a kid, but now I think it's kind of cool. Soo... guess what James is going to get this year? I bought gold and white doilies, red & pink construction paper, glitter and chocolates. Hopefully I'll find some time to do this before Saturday.
I'm also trying to come up with plans for Valentines. James and I are on a severe budget this year, but I did find some great menus for dinner at Epicurious; we also need to finish our taxes -- how romantic, eh? Valentines with a lovely dinner and taxes. That would really "test" our love... *just kidding* i do wish we hadn't already seen Shakespeare in Love, that would be the perfect valentines movie.
